Castle Personal Training is a Corstorphine, Edinburgh based company who specialise in weightloss/toning and Pre and Post Natal exercise.
Just a short introduction about Castle Personal Training and the team behind it.
First there’s me; Peter. I’m the guy responsible for the day to day running of Castle and will conduct most of the Personal Training Sessions and all of the Pre and post natal ones.
I’m in my early 40s, 42 in 2017 when I updated this :), and was born in Amsterdam. I’ve lived in Scotland since 1999 and have been sitting behind a desk in various management positions for most of that duration. I know about the stresses of a “proper” job, I’ve done the 80-90 hour weeks and know how this impacts on your home life, eating habits and work-out schedule.
My sporting background is varied. Obviously I used to play football, who didn’t, and played at the highest amateur level in Holland (Can be compared to Scottish Div 2). I also have an extensive Martial Arts back-ground having achieved a 3rd Brown in Kyokushinkai Karate, during that time I also studied various other forms of martial arts. Though my work-life meant that I’ve had to give active practicing up, I am well versed in the training methods, and nutritional requirements that come with serious competition.
I have a REPS level 3 Personal Training qualification and have various qualifications in Nutrition, Gym-based Boxing, Circuit Training etc. I specialise in weightloss and pre/post natal exercise.
I am one of Edinburgh’s, if not Scotland’s, most prolific writers in the field of fitness and have established a solid reputation within the Fitness industry writing for various magazines and websites. I have been an expert commentator on BBC Scotland’s “Personal Best” program about Pre- and Post-natal fitness and am confident I am the “go-to” trainer for anyone serious about Pre-and Post-natal training in Scotland.
It is safe to say that my nutritional expertise is one of the things that sets me apart from most other Personal Trainers in Scotland. It allows me to create truly personalised Nutrition guides, something you simply won’t/shouldn’t get from other Personal Trainers in Scotland as they are not qualified to do so.
Then there’s Wendy; She is my wife, I am obviously too much of a gentleman to reveal her age but can say she was born in Edinburgh.She will be dealing more with the administrative side of things. She is also much better at the creative side of the website and is kind enough to focus on these two things.
Finally there’s “The Castle Reinforcement team”. These are 6 personal trainers whom I hand-picked for their skill, enthusiasm and quality as Personal Trainers. These guys are top class and understand the Castle mentality with regards to Nutrition, fitness approaches and customer service. They are behind the scenes ready to be called into action whenever required.
